Exclusive Interview Session With Nigeria's Finest Up and Coming Gospel Rap Artist Crusade

Kreativemindz9ja:Can we meet you sir?

Crusade: My names r Samuel A.G Jeffrey. Am from a family of 7 ,am the 3rd born, finished my secondary school at excel ,i was born in kaduna but an indigine of kogi state ,an Ebira boy from okene,presently school at Futminna (I.T student). Am a dance instructor and also a Rap artist


Kreativemindz9ja: your stage name Crusade. Can you tell us the inspiration behind the name?

Crusade: Alright when I first had the encounter, I saw crowd been blessed under my ministration, I saw followers, I needed to raise via the gospel, and there was diverse signs and wonders and God said to me Go yea to the world and preach the Gospel and this signs shall follow dem that believe.........mark16:15 from there the name crusade came fort as one of the end time army whose gonna correct the errors devil have shipped in into the gospel

Kreativemindz9ja: How long have you been doing what you are doing, and how did you get started in the first place?

Crusade: Have been into dance
Since 2006 and I've been into rap since 2011. These gifts(dance and Rap)came via a prophetic encounter they came as a mandate. Actually I had passion for those two right from my teenage level but was really not good in picking them up as part of me...until I had an encounter and surprisingly I found myself dancing and in 2012 the encounter I had way back became a reality and likewise rap too

Kreativemindz9ja: In your own opinion who is the most influential and successful artist in your genre and why?

Crusade: Actually, they are there oo,
But if am to pick one....,I will go for SPOKESMAN because He has really impacted on me. His lifestyle and teachings really portray the Gospel. I mean I could see the reality of James1:22 in him

Kreativemindz9ja: which famous song or sound production ultimately discribe what you'd like Crusade's music production to sound like?

Crusade: My life, Breakable, u alone by spokesman and judgment day by resonance, background by lacrea, howlong by Datruth


Kreativemindz9ja: if you could chose to work with some of today's established artists and producers, to move your game to the top, with whom would you like to collaborate?

Crusade:Artists like Spokesman, TBI, Sir Danny young, Eben, Frankedward, Joe praise, and Joy adejo. Producers like frank Edward, Justice Ark, Steve Jass, Mj Gana

Kreativemindz9ja: which emotions more than any other, mostly dominates your music. joy, sadness, anger or passion etc and why?

Crusade: Passion and joy. I said passion is because , am sent to a generation where people don't accept the lordship of Christ and His finished work on the cross so i speak from a burning passion that Jesus really wants them back and it pains me when i see souls wasting and the evil twarting with them....so the joy has to do with we really having the full understanding of who we are and working with it....


Kreativemindz9ja: Do you think the advent of internet and all new technology has helped your music or do think it creates a mass of mediocre "copycats" who floods the web making it difficult to distinguish yourself?

Crusade: Not Really because am just me regardless of what people think of me...some say am too agressive but thats who i am till they accept the lordship of christ

Kreativemindz9ja: You haven't answered that question. I guess you don't get it

Kreativemindz9ja: (laughs) okay let me put it this way, Has the advent of social media helped your music career or make room for so many people out there like you that it makes it difficult for you to believe in yourself

Crusade: It has actually helped my music career. I receive comments from the social media and they really make me step up my game and think better , read better,yes it helping me do better and know what's really demanding in the body of Christ.....some of this comments comes from fans, friends, family even critics but all i do is to use them wisely and positively

Kreativemindz9ja: in your expirence so far, what is the best piece of advice in the business you actually followed?

Crusade: stick up to The Gospel strictly, no matter wat , always pray for Gods presence which brings about empowerment to my songs or Raps, and also study the word of God and meditate deeply..very carefully, do not try to please some set of people with your songs or Raps and pass the massages in simplicity and also stop chasing after fame but rather spreading Gods name...

Kreativemindz9ja: being an independent artist, which is the one factor, above all else, that you currently desire most (Increased music distribution, better quality production, more media exposure, more clubs and live performance etc...)

Crusade: What I desire the most is better quality production for word impact ,i really dont fancy that word club anyway aside from the quality production i desire for more media exposure so that people may get to listen to what God has for them through me

Kreativemindz9ja: what in your opinion is the biggest barrier an artist like yourself has to face and overcome, to gain any commercial success?

Crusade: quality production is one of the greatest barrier

Kreativemindz9ja: in closing what do you have to say to your fans out there and what should the be expecting from you?

Crusade: thanks for all your encouragement and prayers and also thanks for believing in me.....really want yhu all to keep believing in yourself and trust in God for a word of turn around...
