Kogi State University SUG Vice president Edogbo Anthony Speaks About The Current ASSU Strike
kreativemindz9ja: Sir what is the Present issues on ground as regard Ksu Asuu strike?
Edogbo Anthony: Its a face off between Asuu and the governor now.
Infact we were sent out of the meeting with kogi stakeholders last week.
Kreativemindz9ja: Means the students are in for a long ride?
Edogbo Anthony: Hmmm maybe... The governor is arrogant and immature
Kreativemindz9ja: So why are the student union quiet on it. why haven't actions be taken, are you guys being threatened not to take actions?
Edogbo Anthony: Already we are making plans on bringing all students together for a congress first. Probably next week. The sallah break hindered the plans. Nans is to act on saturday too.....So, its after our congress that we decide what next to do
Kreativemindz9ja: Many people keep saying this strike is political. what do you have to say about this?
Edogbo Anthony: At first, the governor thought it was political since asuu was owed 4months salary before he came in....
But actually its not politically...Asuu is only fighting for her legitimate right.
Kreativemindz9ja: So what is it the SUG are planning to do?
Edogbo Anthony: Hmmm, its not fully decided yet ....The president will disclose it as soon as everything is set.
Kreativemindz9ja: what hat hope are the SUG giving to the students following their proposed actions?
Edogbo Anthony: Negotiations are ongoing, the university management is trying her best, sug is not relaxed, we hope by nxt week something happens....either from the side of the govt, or our side......We are doing everything possible to see that we resume fine soon.
